Historical Records. Vinyl records photography, 2005-2018

Historical Records documents commercially released LP vinyls of political/historical documentation of the twentieth century.

The book contains photos of about 400 LP’s of speeches and interviews of those who were in power and others who objected this power, of wars and peace agreements, human rights struggles and other radio broadcasts, of the events that shaped history from the invention of the phonograph to the fall of the Berlin wall.

In addition, in the book, one can find an interview between Marcus Gammel from Deutschlandfunk Klang Kunst and Dani Gal that contextualises this unique record collection within the field of popular music and, sampling culture and sound art.
